With an average of around 21 to 23°C in the north and 24 to 26°C in the south in the afternoon, the maximum values will be 10°C above the seasonal norm. Temperatures locally will be decent for June rather than the second half of October. On Monday afternoons, temperatures will often range between 22 and 28°C from the southwest to the east, while average values will peak at 18°C in the northwest where skies will be threatening.
On Tuesday, the thermometer will rise again by 20°C or more near the northeastern border, between 22 and 24°C from Brittany to Île-de-France and into the central region. In New Aquitaine and the Midi-Pyrenees, the established heat threshold of 25°C will be reached or exceeded, with a possible peak of 29°C between the Landes and the Basque Country. These extraordinary values will be accompanied by bright sunny weather in the southern two-thirds of the region.
Little change to be expected for a Wednesday with mostly sunny weather and a very mild afternoon. The Indian summer air will invite itself with peaks of 25°C as far as the Loire Valley, 26°C in Poitou, Limousin or Auvergne and between 28 and 30°C closer to the Pyrenees.
