Syiah University Kuala (USK) in collaboration with the SPIRIT Erasmus+ program of the European Union, participated in training activities on the preparation of programs related to sports courses that will be applied in the study program of physical, health, and recreation education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), and the USC Medical School. Both are expected to be pioneers which will later be applied in all USK faculties.
One of the representatives of the USK Erasmus team, Prof. Dr. Yusni, S.Kp, M.Kes, AIF said that this activity also taught various innovations, not only related to how sports lessons were applied at USK for sports students, but how lessons sports had a basis in all scientific fields, especially of the medical family. , Health and Food Nutrition Sciences.
“The training also covers how to develop same sports and improve the performance of athletes in an integrated and multidisciplinary way,” said Professor Yusni.
This activity brought together participants from four countries, including: Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka and Europe, each country is represented by 4-5 participants. Indonesia is represented by 3 universities, Syiah Kuala University (USK), North Sumatra University and Bogor Agricultural University.
“What is interesting about this activity is that out of 3 universities in Indonesia, only USK has a sports department,” he said.
This activity was carried out by the universitat politècnica de valència (UPV) of the city of Valencia, Spain, where the activity was fully funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. This activity takes place over 6 days from Monday May 9, 2022 to Saturday May 14, 2022.
“This activity aims to develop a program of learning sports lessons in universities, applying the program that has been applied in European Union countries,” he said.
