Due to being spies for Pakistan, these three Indian men were sentenced to life imprisonment

Reported by the New Indian Express, three men India sentenced to jail lifetime after being convicted of leaking military data and becoming to spy for the agency Intelligence Pakistan-Interdepartmental intelligence (CONTENT).

According to sources reported by the New Indian Express, the Ahmedabad court in Gujarat state, Sirajuddin Ali Fakir (24), Mohammad Ayub (23) and Naushad Ali (23) have been charged with conspiracy criminal and instigated a war against the state under India’s IPC (KUHP), Official Secrets Act and Information Technology Act in a 2012 case.

Meanwhile, Judge Ambalal Patel rejected the prosecutor’s appeal against the death sentence for the three men, arguing that the crimes committed by the three men did not fall into the “rare” category.

The case of the three men began in 2012, adapted from NDTV, Fakir and Ayub were arrested on October 14, 2012, for allegedly passing classified information about an Indian Army military base to the ISI. Meanwhile, another defendant, Naushad Ali, was arrested on November 2, 2012 on the same charge.

In the indictment, the three kept secret state information which they compiled and shared with Pakistan via an email project for easy access. Other evidence was also obtained, including the cell phones they used.

In addition to these three people, in the same year an ISI agent based in Jamnagar was indeed arrested, but he was released in February 2013 due to lack of evidence.

Under investigation by the Indian government, Fakir traveled to Pakistan in 2007 and met Taimur, a Pakistani intelligence officer. There, Fakir received training to identify and classify officer ranks, military vehicles, and how they communicate safely.

The fakirs do these activities because they are paid for the activities performed. The investigation also indicated that the sum of money obtained amounted to 194,000 rupees (about 35 million) which was sent through various money transfer companies on behalf of people of UAE and Saudi nationality. .

Additionally, Fakir carried out his actions by working as a trader supplying eggs to various military camps to gather information. This way, Fakir can identify the information Pakistani intelligence needs.

In the hearing, Ahmedabad (the court) said that even though they are Indian citizens, the three only think of the benefits of Pakistan. Their actions are seen as gravely undermining the integrity and sovereignty of India.
