Defense Secretary Rajnath Singh on Saturday kept China on his territory and called on political parties not to politicize issues related to the country’s security.
Whatever the comments and beliefs, India has not allowed anyone to enter its territory, he said.
The government has made the safety of the people of India its top priority, Rajnath said, stressing that an appropriate response will be given to anyone who tries to disrupt the country’s peace and harmony.
“In this matter, many incidents have happened that only we two or three people know about. I can’t reveal those details, but we didn’t let them invade our territory,” he said.
Rajnath appealed to political parties not to politicize the issue.
Rajnath said the armed forces are equipped with the latest weapons and technology and are ready to deal with any future threats.
Stressing the importance of achieving self-sufficiency in defense production to build a strong military, he said his ministry has implemented a series of reforms to produce domestic weapons.
“Due to the actions taken by the government in recent years, India has jumped to find a place among the top 25 defense exporters in the world. By the end of this decade, India will not only produce defense equipment for itself, but also meet the needs of friendly foreign countries,” he said.
Rajnath said the BJP practices what it preaches as he unveiled a statue of a Mughal-era Rajput general here.
“It is said that there is a difference between what politicians say and what politicians do,” Rajnath said while unveiling the statue of Veer Durgadas Rathore in Salvan Kalan village in Jodhpur to mark the Rajput general’s 385th birthday.
“But the BJP does what it says. We get this inspiration from sons of the soil like Veer Durgadas Rathore,” Rajnath said in his address.
Rajnath praised the statue’s installation and said Rathore represented religious harmony.
“We must learn from him at a time when some powers have conspired to widen the gap between Hindus and Muslims,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Rajnath was received by Union Jal Shakti Mantri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Rajya Sabha MP Rajendra Gehlot and other BJP leaders here at the airport.
