IN ACCORDANCE with the important moment of 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India, Indian Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste Sandeep Chakravorty hosted the India-Indonesia Golf Cup at Pondok Indah Golf Course.
The golf tournament brought together more than 140 golfers from both countries, including diplomats, government officials, business leaders and prominent members of the public from India and Indonesia.
“This golf tournament celebrates our ever-evolving bilateral relationship over the last 75 years and symbolises the new opportunities that lie ahead. It is the perfect contemporary and popular way to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and cultural contacts between thousands of countries over the years. As in ‘In the past, we inhabited the same cultural space, we now inhabit the global democratic space and we will emerge together in the years to come as the centre of global economic power,’” Sandeep Chakravorty was quoted as saying in an official statement on Monday (26/8).

The winner of this event itself was a team consisting of Noah Haji, Henry Lee, Djonnie Rachmat, and Xavier Selga.
The organizers chose Pondok Indah Golf Course, strategically located in South Jakarta, as the venue for this prestigious event due to its world-class course design, stunning views and exceptional facilities, making it a prime location for hosting international golf tournaments.
In this activity, the Indian Embassy, in collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy Group, also managed to raise IDR 250 million in charitable funds which will be donated to Sungai Watch, an organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of rivers in Indonesia.
