Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the centre, which is spread over 46,000 sq. ft. in Indore.

“The 21st century is the century of intellectual property, which will leave its mark on the world through information technology and artificial intelligence,” Yadav said at the opening ceremony.

He said that with its intellectual power, India has been respected across the world for centuries and strengthening the intellectual property of the IT sector in the country was the need of the hour. Cognizant plans to expand its operations in Hyderabad by opening a new facility, which is likely to create 15,000 new jobs.

The Prime Minister told reporters after the inauguration ceremony that over 1,500 jobs would be created through Cognizant in Indore and this number could reach 20,000 in future. Surya Gummadi, Executive Vice President of Cognizant and President of Cognizant Americas, was also present at the opening ceremony.

“Indore will seamlessly integrate with our existing delivery network across India, with a focus on innovative solutions for our global customers, creating new opportunities for local talent and bringing our offices closer to where our colleagues live,” Gummadi said. Located at Brilliant Titanium in the heart of Indore, the new centre has a seating capacity of 500 and can accommodate up to 1,250 employees in a hybrid business model.
