What is the story of a circus movie like

Jamnadas Anaath Aashram in Ooty is run by two orphans Roy and Joy, who grew up in the same orphanage. It’s a haven of peace for all children with no one to turn to. Dr Roy (Murali Sharma) has a goal in his heart. He wants to change the way the world views orphans and make them see and believe that more than one’s family, lineage or caste and religion, education is most important. It is surprising when two sets of identical twins are chosen by two pairs of loving but childless parents. Dr. Roy replaces the twins from set A with one from set B, creating one set of brothers Roy and Joy (Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma), who will be raised by parents who run the successful Cirkus in Ooty and another set Roy and Joy (Ranveer and Varun), who will be brought up by industrialist parents in Bangalore. Several years later, the Bangalore twins crash-landed in Ooty, triggering numerous mistaken identities that lead to chaos and confusion until the twins finally collide.

what’s hot

Rohit Shetty is known for creating immersive experiences worthy of the big screen and he immerses us in a beautiful and colorful universe with Cirkus. Even though it is a comedy of errors, fortunately protagonists Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma refrain from being cartoonish. Comedy revolves around them, bolstered by impeccable comedic timing from actors like Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Jadhav, Johnny Lever and others. Their puns and puns will make you laugh here and there and special mention for the use of songs from the past fit the situational comedy perfectly, adding to the overall experience. Ranveer Singh did nothing extraordinary in this film for a change but he stuck to his character without going overboard in desperation to prove what a good actor he is. The cast is flawless and the secondary characters, as usual, steal the show. Cirkus has a subtle message that is very relevant and kudos to Shetty for once again tackling something so sensitive without preaching and without any propaganda whatsoever.

What’s not

If you were expecting the same amount of laughs as Rohit Shetty’s previous films in his comic universe, you will be disappointed. While there are moments that will make you cringe, most of his jokes are childish or have a “saw that,” “heard that” feeling attached to them. The first act was slow but luckily the movie resumed after the break. Supporting characters in Shetty films always stand out. And it is certain that in the universe there will be uniformity in terms of character and nuance. While that’s okay, it’s time for some new additions with new quirks to the “very open” set to add some new entertainment. The songs could be better, none of them stand out apart from Current Laga, that’s also thanks to Deepika Padukone, who lit up the screen with her performance. Ranveer and Deepika are seen having a great time and it makes you want to see more of them in their own films.

BL’s verdict

Circus is helmed by Rohit Shetty, the man behind some of Bollywood’s most beloved major acts; it stars Ranveer Singh who is one of the best actors we have in India at the moment and the film is apt for the festive season. It’s the season to be merry! So if you’re looking to enjoy some family movies, with harmless entertainment this holiday season, Cirkus is for you. Tip: Bring children and elderly family members with you.
