China qualifies with four representatives for the 2024 Indian Open final

Badminton News: The Chinese national badminton team performed a victory song at the prestigious India Open World Tour Super 750 tournament held in New Delhi.

Except for the men's doubles which was eliminated early and no one qualified for the final, the remaining four events, namely men's singles, women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles, all have players qualifying for the 2024 Indian Open final.

Shi Yuqi, who was just promoted to world number two this week, continued his good performance at the Malaysia Open, facing eighth seed and Indian star HS Prannoy, which he won easily 21-15 , 21-5.

The two players who advanced to the women's singles final were Chen Yufei and her arch rival, Tai Tzu Ying.

Chen Yufei eliminated teammate Wang Zhiyi 21-13, 21-18, while Tai Tzu Ying defeated Singapore representative who eliminated An Se Young, Yeo Jia Min with a score of 21-13, 21-18.

After losing the first match, Zhang Shuxian/Zheng Yu won two matches in a row and defeated teammates Li Wenmei/Liu Xuanxuan 19-21, 21-17 and 21-18, to meet former world champions Japan, Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara. in the final of the India Open 2024, where the latter beat the South Korean pair Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee 21-13, 21-16.

Meanwhile, the young Chinese mixed doubles pair, Jiang Zhenbang/Wei Yaxin avenged Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong and Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping by beating the South Korean pair Kim Won Ho/Jeong Na Eun 21-19 and 21- 18. In the final of the India Open 2024, their opponents will be former world champions Thailand, Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.
