This was a second setback for the Congress in the tribal state after the general elections held last year. In the 2023 general elections, the BJP won with an overwhelming majority and formed the government with Vishnu Deo Sai as chief minister.
At the national level, the NDA is expected to win 144 to 162 of the 234 seats so far. The INDIA alliance is likely to win between 70 and 88 seats in these constituencies.
