RSS boss Mohan Bhagwat has accused the British rulers of ruining India’s education system, saying that “70 percent” of the population were literate before they ruled the country.
Bhagwat was addressing a gathering here on Sunday after inaugurating a multidisciplinary hospital at the Aatam Manohar Jain Aradhana Mandir complex.
“…Before British rulers ruled this country, 70 percent of our population was educated and educated. And based on that education, everyone found ways to make a living, and unemployment was almost negligible,” he said.
“At that time their literacy rate was about 17 per cent, according to the educational system prevailing in England. After the British came, they dumped our education model here, but implemented it in their own country…” Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader said.
He said the education system that existed in India when the British began to rule the country not only made people independent and employable, but was also a medium of knowledge. But the British rulers have ruined this system, Bhagwat said.
The RSS chief also stressed the importance of health and education for everyone in society, stressing that these should reach everyone and be affordable.
He claimed that people used to run these two sectors out of a sense of duty, but in modern times they have become businesses.
Bhagwat also praised the work of Aatam Manohar Muni Ashram.
