Although techie Anupam Jain, 40, from Haralur Road has filed a complaint with the airline, he has yet to receive an adequate response. The business class passenger had found that the TSA lock on his suitcase was open and the gadgets inside were missing.
When STOI contacted British Airways last Sunday, a spokesman said the airline was looking into the case but had had no reply on the matter as of Saturday night.
Anupam landed at KIA on British Airways flight BA 119 from London in the early hours of July 28. He had previously flown from Chicago to London’s Heathrow Airport and had a four-hour layover there.
“When I got to Bengaluru Airport, I found that one of my three checked suitcases was missing. While busy filing a complaint with British Airways ground staff I did not check the other suitcases. When I got home, I was shocked to find that my blue and black suitcase was unlocked,” Anupam recalled.
The techie soon found that the devices were missing. “A Columbia backpack I bought for my daughter wasn’t there either. I think someone opened my suitcase, possibly during transport at Heathrow, put all the gadgets in the backpack and took it away after locking the bag,” said the techie, who bought the gadgets and backpack at a big sale USA had bought .
Anupam contacted British Airways’ customer service hotline in India but to no avail. “They kept passing the buck and I didn’t get a positive response,” he added.
