Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan end resistance of MR Arjun / Dhruv Kapila in the quarter-finals 2022 World Championship at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Japan, Friday (8/26) morning.

Ahsan/Hendra scored the first four points without noticeable resistance from the Indian opponents. Arjun/Kapila’s choice to play defense was capitalized on by Ahsan/Hendra who continued to score after being stopped at 4-1.

The elderly couple from Indonesia seemed to really rock Arjun/Kapila. Not all of Ahsan/Hendra’s punches could have been returned well by the No. 35 ranked doubles in the world.

Ahsan/Hendra led 11-1 in the first interval. Arjun/Kapila’s second point came after the break.

Not wanting to “breathe” the opponent, Ahsan/Hendra attacked Arjun/Kapila’s defense again. Again, India’s second-best pair couldn’t budge. The scoreboard shows 15-3.

After Ahsan/Hendra reached 16 points, Arjun/Kapila started scoring consistently. The long distance is an advantage for Ahsan/Hendra. The first match ended at 21-8.

The second game started with a 2-0 lead taken by Ahsan/Hendra. Slightly different from the first match, Arjun/Kapila had a fairly close fight with a score of 5-4.

After that, Ahsan/Hendra continued to gain points which put them away from Arjun/Kapila. Ahsan/Hendra lead 11-6 in the second half.

The distance between Ahsan/Hendra and Arjun/Kapila was not like in the first match. Ahsan/Hendra continue to fight for a ticket to the semi-finals of the 2022 world championships.

The pair dubbed The Daddies played effectively to earn points against younger opponents.

Behind 9-15, Arjun/Kapila are still excited to pursue the world number three pair. From a distance of six points, Arjun / Kapila got closer and were four points apart with the score of 12-16.

Pursued by opponents, Ahsan / Hendra again scored points. The four-point distance is maintained until 18-14. Ahsan/Hendra then won three straight points and won 21-14.

In the semi-final, Ahsan/Hendra will face Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto who qualified first.
