Afghanistan will play all three formats on their bilateral tour of Bangladesh for the first time, when they arrive in Dhaka on June 10. They will play one Test, three ODIs and two T20Is. Their previous visits have usually involved playing white ball cricket, like last year, or red ball cricket, like this year.
The visit, however, will be divided into two parts. Afghanistan will play a one-off test in Dhaka from June 14-18, after which they will travel to India for the white ball series. They will return to Bangladesh on July 1 to play three ODIs at Chattogram from July 5-11. They will also play two T20Is in Sylhet on July 14 and 16, which will conclude the series.
Afghanistan made their last tour of Bangladesh in 2022 when they lost in the ODI 2-1 but drew in a T20I. They played their only Test against Bangladesh in 2019 when they beat the hosts by 224 points in the Chattogram.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, returned home to Dhaka after their successful ODI series against Ireland in Chelmsford. Players will take a short break before starting preparations for the test in Afghanistan next month.
