Badminton India holds selection for 2023 Asian Junior Championships

Badminton News: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) announced on Friday that the selection trials for the highly anticipated Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023 will be held from June 4-7 at Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi.

The Asian Junior Badminton Championships will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from July 7-16.

During these trials, players will be evaluated on their performance, and selected individuals will be given the privilege of representing the country at this prestigious junior-level event.

This championship provides an excellent platform for young talent to show off their skills and compete against the best players from across the Asian continent.

This provides Indian badminton players with an invaluable opportunity to gain international exposure and further their development in the sport.

The trials will include the top 8 men’s and women’s singles players as well as the top 4 pairs from the doubles event of the National Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held in Guwahati earlier this month, as well as the top 4 best singles players and the top 2. two pairs in the BAI ranking.

Anwesha Gowda (4), Anupama Upadhyaya (8), Unnati Hooda (14) and five other players, who are in the top 20 of the BWF rankings, will also take part in trials and try to secure their place in the Indian team.

BAI’s selection trials will play a vital role in identifying and nurturing promising badminton players who have the potential to make a big mark at international level.

This tournament is a milestone in the careers of these young athletes and demonstrates India’s commitment to developing talent in the sport of badminton.
