Apple iPhone 15 has been launched in India at ₹79,900

Apple today announced the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus with features such as Dynamic Island, an advanced camera system, a 48MP main camera, a new 2x telephoto option and a USB-C option.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in five new colors: pink, yellow, green, blue and black. Pre-orders begin Friday, September 15th, with availability beginning Friday, September 22nd. The new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage capacities and start at ₹79,900 and ₹89,900 respectively in India.

“The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus represent a major step forward with exciting camera innovations that inspire creativity, the intuitive Dynamic Island, and features like satellite roadside assistance that truly transform users’ lives,” said Kaiann Drance, vice president of Apple of worldwide iPhone product marketing.

As for the display, the iPhone 15 series is available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes. They feature Dynamic Island, an innovative way to interact with important alerts and live activities.

“The elegant experience is fluidly extendable and customizable, allowing users to see the next direction in Maps, easily control music, and get real-time updates on food delivery, ride-sharing, sports scores, travel plans, and more with third-party app integrations. and more.”

As for the camera, a 48MP main camera can take sharp photos and videos while capturing fine details, with a quad-pixel sensor and 100 percent focus pixels for fast autofocus, Apple says.

The main camera offers users a new super high resolution of 24MP as standard. An additional 2x telephoto option in the iPhone 15 lineup gives users three optical quality zoom levels – 0.5x, 1x, 2x, which is a first for an iPhone dual camera system.

According to Apple, the iPhone 15 series features the A16 Bionic chip with two high-performance cores that use 20% less power and four high-efficiency cores. The 6-core CPU is also “faster” than the previous generation and can also handle intensive tasks.

The 5-core GPU has 50% more memory bandwidth for smooth graphics when streaming videos and games. A new 16-core neural engine can perform 17 trillion operations per second. This enables faster machine learning calculations for features like live voicemail transcriptions in iOS 17.

The iPhone 15 series also includes key safety features including accident detection and emergency SOS via satellite. The feature is currently available in 14 countries, but not in India.

The iPhone 15 series uses a USB-C port, a widely accepted standard for charging and transferring data, allowing the same cable to charge iPhone, Mac, iPad and the updated AirPods Pro (2nd generation). The USB-C port also allows users to charge AirPods or Apple Watch directly from the iPhone.

Both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have iOS 17 with features like updates with contact posters, a new sticker experience, a new way to use AirDrop, and a full-screen experience with organized information.
