iOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5 beta for developers: What's new
Most of the features Apple promised with iOS 17 have already been released. However, the latest version of iOS 17.5 brings additional changes to the app ecosystem that were necessary for iPhones and iPads to work in the European Union (EU).
With the latest beta releases, app developers can now offer iPhone and iPad users in the EU to download apps for their devices directly from their websites. Additionally, users in this region will also be able to download apps through other app markets.
The beta versions of iOS and iPadOS 17.5 also include code changes regarding the new Apple Pencil models You Battery health feature for the iPad. This update will also add a color changing widget for the Apple Podcasts widget, mobile device management, third-party tracking alerts, and the ability to block all participants in a FaceTime call group.
