Former Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu came under the spotlight on social media platforms with his decision to quit the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday (January 6). Ambati Rayudu has expressed his intention to take a break from politics and he has now explained his decision by revealing his commitment to the Emirates MI team in the upcoming second edition of the ILT20 cricket tournament in the UAE.
On his official profile, X Rayudu wrote, “I, Ambati Rayudu, will be representing Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILT20 competition to be held on January 20 in Dubai. This requires me to have no political affiliation when participating in professional sports.
Earlier, the left-handed batsman had retired from the IPL after winning a record fifth league title with Chennai Super Kings. Ambati Rayudu was an integral part of the Yellow Army and played several match-winning knocks for the team.
