Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan defeated MR Arjun/Dhruv Kapila in the quarter-finals Singapore Open 2022 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Friday (7/15) afternoon.
Ahsan / Hendra started late in the game for the semi-final ticket against Indian opponents.
After equalizing at 1-1, Ahsan/Hendra gave in. Arjun/Kapila won four points in a row, so Ahsan/Hendra trailed 1-5.
The Daddies try to get back up and get point by point. The second-seeded men’s doubles at the Singapore Open wasted no time beating his opponent.
Ahsan / Hendra then cut the distance and left only one point behind at 5-6 to 7-8.
Again Ahsan/Hendra were locked out and failed to score, leaving Arjun/Kapila behind. After the first interval of play at 7-11, Ahsan/Hendra struggle gained points against fierce resistance from Arjun/Kapila.

Arjun/Kapila’s point gain continues until he is close to winning points. The 40th-ranked pair in the world lost Ahsan/Hendra 10-21 in the opener.
Ahsan/Hendra tried to take the second game in hopes of a rubber game, but Arjun/Kapila could force the senior Indonesian pair to make a mistake and make the game fierce.
The two pairs only differ by one to two points and often the scoreboard shows the same number. Ahsan/Hendra and Arjun/Kapila could both chase points and then overtake.
Ahsan/Hendra lead 11-10 in the second interval of play. After the match resumes, Arjun/Kapila could equalize again and overtake Ahsan/Hendra’s points.
The Malaysia Masters 2022 finalist was trailing 12-13 at the time. Arjun / Kapila even had a two-point lead, but Ahsan / Hendra were relentless and then equalized again at 16-16.
Ahsan/Hendra then led 19-17 then became 20-18. Without error Ahsan/Hendra ended the second game with a 21-18 victory.
The match at the start of the third game was once again fierce. Ahsan/Hendra and Arjun/Kapila took turns scoring, as in the previous two games.
The duel of short balls of the two pairs went rather well. Ahsan/Hendra were then able to register a three-point advantage, but Arjun/Kapila kept trying to close in doing various tricks to outsmart the Indonesian pair.
Even if they had missed a point, Ahsan/Hendra always knew how to maintain a distance of three points on the score of 5-2 to 10-7. Arjun/Kapila were able to lock Ahsan/Hendra’s points again at 10. The score then became 10-10.
Hendra’s backhand smash made it 11-10 and the match was cut short and the pair switched courts.
Ahsan/Hendra got two consecutive numbers after the interval, so the distance was back to three points.

Failing to finish the match at the first opportunity, Ahsan / Hendra then secured a 21-17 victory.
