reported from Islamic Information, Thursday (8/9/2022), in 1985, the Phulwaria Dam is said to have sunk the mosque known as the Noori Mosque. A historical mosque with a height of about 30 feet or about 9 meters.

According to the report, many young people ended up crowding the neighborhood when they saw the mosque had appeared. They had to walk through mud to get to the mosque until they reached the parapet of the old mosque structure.

The building was completely intact as many people entered the mosque. People were amazed that the structure of the mosque was undamaged despite being submerged for decades.

When the water level has not dropped enough, only a small part of the mosque’s dome is visible, making it difficult for people to understand what it is. However, anyone can see the Noori Mosque in the open when the ground dries up, and many people are interested in seeing the mosque.

The sunken mosque is believed to have existed before the construction of the Phulwaria Dam began in 1979. Initially, when the construction of the dam was completed, the mosque was unaffected. But then the whole area, including the mosque, was submerged by the water collected by the dam.

This mosque is believed to have been built around the beginning of the 20th century and has a maximum age of around 120 years. As a result of observing the architecture of the dome of the mosque, it is believed that this house of worship was built with the architectural features of the Mughal period.
