Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the G20 summit in Bali on November 14-16 as India will assume the presidency of the group from December 1, 2022.

The Indian Ambassador to Indonesia said during an interaction with ANI on Sunday, “The Prime Minister’s visit is short but it is a very important visit here at the G20 Bali Summit,” Manoj Kumar Bharti told ANI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 17th G20 Summit, where he will formally take over India’s G20 Presidency for 2023.

“PM Modi’s coming to the G20 is important because India is about to take over the G20 presidency from Indonesia, as for the Indonesian presidency, India has continuously provided assistance to Indonesia, and the Indonesian government also recognizes India’s cooperation,” said the Indian envoy.

“The participation of the Prime Minister of India in this Summit is also important in that the Prime Minister launched our Presidency logo and website the day before the appointment, this is a very good opportunity to show our Presidency in front of all the world leaders. Tell them about India’s success stories,” said the Indian envoy in Bali in an interview.

Guided by the Prime Minister’s vision, India’s foreign policy has evolved to provide leadership on the global stage. In a significant step in this direction, India will take over the G20 presidency on December 1, 2022.

“India will take over the presidency of the G20 from Indonesia. India has given full support and support to the Indonesian Presidency throughout the past year,” Bharti said.

“The theme of India’s G20 Presidency – ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ – comes from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha Upanishad. In essence, the theme affirms the value of all life – human, animal, plant and microorganisms – and their interconnectedness on planet Earth and in the wider universe,” the official statement said.

The theme also illuminates LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) with its associated, environmentally sustainable and responsible choices, both at the level of individual lifestyle and national development, leading to global transformative actions leading to a cleaner, greener and bluer future .

During the G20 Summit, India will address the issues of renewable energy and the digital revolution.

“India is advancing the key points of the Indonesian political presidency related to food and renewable energy safety, health and digital transformation. However, it will also be a very good and appropriate opportunity for our Prime Minister to tell world leaders about the main theme of the Indian Presidency,” Ambassador Manoj Bharti told ANI.

Bharti also said PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with world leaders to air speculation in the diplomatic arena that he is likely to meet new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at the G20 summit, however there is no confirmation as of now from Indian side.

The PM will also speak and interact with the Indian community in Bali.
