NBA 2022-2023 pre-season: Giannis Antetokounmpo wants a Milwaukee Bucks tour of China and India : Okezone Sports

ABU DHABI – Milwaukee Bucks basketball player, Giannis Antetokounmpointerested in doing a pre-season tour NBA 2022-2023 in China and India. According to Giannis, touring other countries will be very good to further popularize the sport of basketball, especially the NBA.

So far, the Bucks have just had their NBA pre-season in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). They also picked the Middle Eastern country to face the Atlanta Hawks in two games.

The game took place at the Etihad Arena, but the Bucks failed to defeat the Hawks. The 2020-2021 NBA champion lost 113-128 to the Hawks in the first game on Thursday, October 6, 2022 and 109-118 in the second game on Saturday, October 8, 2022.

Giannis was also pleased with the tour. He admitted for the first time appearing in Abu Dhabi.

Giannis said he was happy to be able to play outside of the United States, as he had played in London, England and Paris, France. Now he plays in other countries, like China.

Giannis admitted that he had never played in China, which made him want to compete in Shanghai or Beijing.

“I’ve played in London and Paris, while I’m playing Abu Dhabi for the first time. I’ve never played in China, maybe Shanghai or Beijing,” Giannis said as quoted by Fade Away World , Monday (10/10/2022).

Giannis also explained that playing the pre-season in China would be a fun experience. Moreover, he wanted to visit India with the aim of introducing basketball to the world. Because he was sure a lot of people liked basketball and he wanted more basketball fans.

“It will be a great experience. Maybe somewhere in India to try and expand the game as much as possible, the fans and reach places that haven’t been visited,” he said.

“I feel like a lot of people around the world love basketball, we just introduced it to them and we’re going to get more fans,” he explained.

China has arguably one of the largest NBA fanbases in the world. This is inseparable from the presence of Yao Ming who had defended the Houston Rockets from 2002 to 2011.
