Upcoming important laws
Congress, which has suffered electoral defeat, therefore chose a new leader on Monday, its first in 22 years. Around 9,000 party members were called to decide Shashi Tharoorwell-known MP from Kerala, and Mallikarjun Kharge, former opposition leader in the upper house of India’s parliament.
The winner will have a lot to do. Legislative elections are drawing near in several key states such as Gujarat and Karnataka. Above all, elections for the post of Prime Minister are scheduled for 2024.
