Festive fervor back in business India, companies celebrating festivals in physical mode

New Delhi/Bengaluru: After two lackluster years of virtually exchanging holiday greetings, the festive fervor has returned to businesses in India, with companies celebrating festivals like Diwali in physical mode with their employees.

EY, Myntra, The Good Glamm, Zepto, Cars24, BankSathi, upGrad and NoBroker, among others, are in a celebratory mood and, in addition to organizing events and decorating offices, plan to distribute gifts related to wellness and flexibility, including leisure and vacation, concentrate .

Among the companies that offer flexibility as a gift, the consulting group EY marks October as Flexibility Month with the topic of hybrid working. “We have various initiatives, such as B. A flexible working arrangement that allows our employees to work from anywhere for up to 10 days,” said an EY spokesman. “Our employees can take time off work without having to use their annual leave and continue to work.”

Fashion e-commerce company Myntra grants employees time off to take time off and vacation. Food delivery start-up Zepto has come up with a theme for the Diwali celebrations – ‘Health, Happiness and Home’. The company encourages employees to apply for one-on-one meetings with company leaders and is sending out curated play baskets for employees to use with their families, said Roma Bindroo, Zepto’s chief HR officer.

Fintech platform BankSathi plans to give its employees four days of special leave around Diwali, its founder Jitendra Dhaka said.

Cashback and coupon site CashKaro, which has extended hours during festivals, rewards its employees by doubling pay for the period. “Those employees who work extra hours can get double their daily wages as overtime,” said Swati Bhargava, co-founder of CashKaro. “We also have a policy of providing compensation payments.”

Cars24, an e-commerce platform for used cars, last month launched a special website for its employees – Cars24 Workstore – where employees can select a product that the company then gives them as a gift. The product range extends from headphones to manual juicers to hair straighteners. Each product also comes with a surprise gift. “These will be delivered to their homes, further adding to the festive fervor and spirit,” said Pooja Dudani, Human Resources Manager at Cars24.

Edtech startup upGrad has launched upRatri – a series of celebrations where its employees share Navratri in fun activities for nine days – at over 30 locations with the theme “One upGrad”. “This includes dress codes and other engagement sessions on the floor,” said Saurabh Deep Singla, upGrad’s CHRO. “There’s another exciting series coming up around Diwali,” he added.

Amit Kumar Agarwal, CEO of real estate website NoBroker, said: “This year’s holiday season is getting bigger as we celebrate with the staff after two years in the office.”

Neha Bisht, Head, Corporate Gifting, at gifting company Ferns N Petals said there has been a surge in requests for wellness, health and sustainability baskets this year.

Anusha Mehta, founder of Wrapping Happiness, said the gift company uses sustainable and natural products as part of their gift baskets this Diwali.
