India launches 5G broadcast in 13 cities

Merdeka.com – Merdeka.com – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the launch of local 5G services in India. This launch signifies that India is ready with the new technology being talked about. Although it has been launched, this service is not yet available in all parts of the country in the subcontinent. But Modi promised that 5G networks would soon be available across the country.

Reported GizChina, Tuesday (4/10), in July this year, India opened a 5G spectrum auction. The auction is for 72,097.85 MHz and includes the 600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz frequency bands.

Unsurprisingly, 5G services will be rolled out in stages. The first cities to support 5G services in India are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. So, in total, 13 cities are ready for 5G services.

Other Indian cities and towns will gain access to next-generation 5G services from the coming months. But the whole process will take 2-3 years. Although relatively long, but the territory of the country must be taken into account. With this milestone, at least 75% of the total population in India will be able to connect to 5G by the end of this year.

Currently, 5G is the latest generation of telecommunications technology. 5G not only accelerates download speed, but also brings many benefits. It is the core technology for cloud-based games and autonomous vehicles. 5G services will also bring many benefits to various public services. These include the fields of health, agriculture and management. [faz]
