Badminton News: Indian senior badminton player, HS Prannoy has entered the top 15 of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) world rankings after a gap of nearly four years.
The last time the badminton player was ranked 15th in the world was on October 17, 2018. He moved up one position to enter the top 15 again.
On the other hand, the men’s doubles, MR Arjun/Dhruv Kapila (jumped three places to number 23) and the mixed doubles Ishaan Bhatnagar/Tanisha Bhatnagar (jumped two places to number 30), won the best rankings.
Notably, World Championship quarter-finalists Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun won the men’s doubles title at the Maha Metro Maharashtra International Challenge badminton tournament in Nagpur earlier this month.
Recently, HS Prannoy became world number one in the men’s singles category of the BWF World Tour Rankings. In the rankings updated on September 6, Prannoy established himself as the number one player in the tour rankings.
The BWF World Tour 2022 starts on January 11 and ends on December 18. This is the fifth season of the BWF Badminton World Tour. The tour consists of 22 tournaments leading up to the tour finale in December.
