LThe war in Ukraine proves it: The West, even while defending the independence of the country under attack, failed to mobilize the international community on its side beyond the vague condemnation of the principal aggressor by the United Nations General Assembly. Several countries have followed suit in imposing sanctions at Russia’s expense.
Indeed, even if it disapproves or supports Putin, the whole world intends to stay as far away from conflicts as it is not directly concerned. At times, he even took advantage of this by buying, at a discount, Russian oil which was placed under embargo by Europeans. Suddenly, Russia is arguing from this apparent neutrality to assert that the world sees their military intervention as a war against the decadent West…
