Indonesia won two gold medals at Asia-Pacific Badminton Championships for the Deaf

Jakarta (Antara) – Indonesia won two gold medals at the sixth Asia-Pacific Deaf Badminton Championships held in Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand from September 14-21, 2022.

Elias Rachman Riandani won the first men’s singles gold medal after defeating Indonesia’s Eddy Susanto.

Ryandhani won his second men’s doubles gold, paired with Susanto. They beat the Thai duo 21-19, 22-20.

“The group fight (match) was very difficult but we tried hard to get through it. In fact, the preparation (for the tournament) was surprising, and I also trained with Riandani in Garuda,” said Susanto. Between here Wednesday.

Athletes from seven countries and administrative regions are participating in the Asia-Pacific Badminton Championships for the Deaf 2022. These countries include India, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaysia and host Thailand.

Indonesia sent 10 athletes to the tournament. Also taking part in the competition are Riandani and Susanto, Dazakia A. Maarouf, Richa Fadlaton Nysa and Mohamed Enrico Rasidan.

The departure of the Indonesian delegation was facilitated by the Indonesian Deaf Sports Federation (PORTURIN).

Puerto Rico is the premier sports organization for deaf athletes and an official member of the International Commission for Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Deaf Athlete Tournaments are held separately from IPC competitions, so they have their own schedule and schedule.

In Indonesia, besides PORTURIN, the Indonesian Association for the Welfare of the Deaf (GERKATIN), a member of the World Federation of the Deaf since 1983, also helps people with hearing loss.

In addition to increasing the potential of Deaf human resources, Girkatin seeks to play an active role in supporting the government’s program of social development for the Deaf.
