Indonesian national team will play the most important match among other ASEAN teams in the FIFA Matchday International Calendar for the period of September 2022 next week.
This FIFA Matchday will take place from September 19 to 27. Within eight days, the average ASEAN team held two friendlies. But there are also those who can only endure one game.
This is the last international calendar before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar or the last calendar before the 2022 AFF Cup. Therefore, this calendar is used to the maximum by all teams.
Among the 11 ASEAN countries, Indonesia is the team with the toughest testing schedule. Shin Tae Yong’s side will play two games against FIFA’s 84th-ranked side Curacao on September 24-27.
Meanwhile, other ASEAN teams only play teams outside the top 100. Thailand, for example, hosted the 2022 King’s Cup after a three-year delay by inviting three countries.
The three invited countries were Trinidad and Tobago (101), Tajikistan (109) and Malaysia (148). The tournament will last three days. The first game will take place on September 22 and the closing will take place on September 25.
Much like Thailand, Vietnam is also hosting a tournament called VFF Tri-Nations Series 2022. Two countries invited to compete in this trophy format are Singapore (159) and India (104).

Unlike Thailand and Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam invited Laos and the Maldives for a trial, but without tournament frills. The trio will face off on September 24 and 27 in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Myanmar is the only ASEAN country to have decided to travel outside ASEAN on this FIFA Day. The civil war-torn country has traveled to Hong Kong for two trials.
Meanwhile, the Philippines and Timor Leste do not yet know who will fight. On the official website of the football federations of the two countries, it is not published which opponents will be faced during FIFA Matchday.
