This is the article by Azyumardi Azra which will be presented in Malaysia before his death

Azyumardi Azra traveled to Malaysia to fulfill an invitation as a guest speaker at the “International Islamic Cosmopolitan Conference”. He is one of 10 speakers who are scheduled to be speakers.

The event was originally scheduled to be held on Saturday (17/9) at the Bangi Avenue Convention Center, Kajang. Azyumardi Azra along with three other people participated in the 1st session of the event entitled “Inspiring Awakening, Exploring the Future”.

Azyumardi produced an article titled “Nusantara for the Awakening of Civilization: Enhancing the Optimism and Role of Southeast Asian Muslims”. The material was initially to be delivered by Azyumardi Azra during the event.

Azyumardi begins his article with an optimistic view that Asia has the potential to once again become the center of world civilization. He sees that there are indicators that support this optimism.

Meanwhile, the United States and Europe have experienced a “setback” or even a lingering economic crisis. In contrast, various Asian countries that have grown, such as Japan and South Korea, have persisted or even grown.

“At the same time, a number of emerging Asian countries (emerging) from China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, Singapore and Thailand. The phenomenal economic progress of Muslim-majority countries, Indonesia and Malaysia, has encouraged improvements in the quality of education, science and technology, and life conditions community,” Azyumardi wrote as seen on Tuesday (9/20/2022).

Azyumardi died while being treated in a hospital in Malaysia. The body of today’s master UIN Syarif Hidayatullah was buried at TMP Kalibata.

Azyumardi is known as a Muslim scholar from Indonesia. Finally, Azyumardi was entrusted with the responsibility of Chairman of the Press Council.
