Your journey between Delhi and Gwalior will be made easier with the construction of a new 160 km 6 lane highway between Gwalior and Gra. The United Government’s ambitious plan is to cut travel time between Delhi and Gwalior from a few hours to 4 hours.

It should be noted that the National Highway Authority of India is constructing the 408.77 km Chambal Highway connecting Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and Kota in Rajasthan.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the Rs 3 trillion project had been approved by the Union government. “This toll road will be very useful for the people of Bhind, Morena, Datia, Jhansi, Shivpuri and Gwalior,” he said.

Scindia is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Madhya Pradesh.

Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Scindia said the project would be similar to the Yamuna Toll Road and the Lucknow-Agra Toll Road. He clarified that it would start from Niravali Tirahe in Gwalior and would connect to the Agra-Lucknow expressway in Agra. It will be built five kilometers to the right of the existing four-lane highway.

1. The 408.77 km Chambal Expressway (Atal Progressway), built by the National Highway Authority of India, is a 6-lane controlled access highway project linking Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and Kota in Rajasthan.
2. This completely new toll road, as part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna, will connect the economically impoverished areas of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
3. It will connect the NH-27 in Seemalya village near Kota district to Nanawa village in Etwawah district.
4. To the east, it will run from the operational Agra-Lucknow highway near Etwah and parallel to the Chambal River via Bhind, Morena, Gwalior and Shivpuri.
5. To the west, an intersection will be built near Kota to connect with the 1,350 km Delhi-Mumbai toll road currently under construction.
6. The six-lane Gwalior-Agra highway will be built five kilometers to the right of the existing four-lane highway.
7. The toll road will start from Niravali Tirahe in Gwalior and join the Agra-Lucknow toll road in Agra.
