KERALA, KOMPAS.com – The Department of Motor Vehicles (MVD) of the state of Kerala in India, has decided to ban the use of helmet mounted cameras or action cams the car drivers.

The regulations state that drivers caught using an action camera on a helmet will be fined approximately Rs 1,000 or the equivalent of Rs 185,228 and suspended from their driver’s license for 3 month.

A ban on the use of action cameras in helmets has been proposed since last year. Security agencies claim that using action cameras can be distracting and increase the risk of accidents.
