11 Indonesian tennis players perform at AMMAN International Tennis Championships 2022

This is the first international tennis tournament in Indonesia since 2019.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – A total of 11 Indonesian tennis players will participate in the event AMMAN International Tennis Championship 2022. Even if the international rankings of our players have not met the conditions to appear. As the host has a wildcard quota.


Of the 11 tennis players, four immediately appeared in the main round of the round of 16, namely Nathan Anthony Barki, Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi, Achad Imam Ma’ruf and Rifqy Sukma Ramadhan.


While the seven players who played the qualifying round with 48 draws were Renaldi Aqila Arifadli, Faried Widyarohmadhiansyah, Aldhito Ramadhan Dwi Kurniawan, Aditya Harry Sasongko, Moh. Gunawan Trismuwantara, Lucky Chandra Kurniawan and Ignatius Anthony Susanto.


This tournament will be held consecutively from August 8-14, 2022 and August 15-21, 2022. Referring to the ITF competition website as of Saturday (7/8/2022), Sasikumar Mukund (India) who is ranked 441st in singles in the world will be the first seed of AMMAN First International Tennis Championship Series. Participants came from 18 countries, namely Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand, -Bas, Russia and France and South Africa.


It’s a tournament international tennis first in the country. After the last time in 2019. The tournament titled AMMAN International Tennis Championships is fully supported by PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) and will be held at the grounds of Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta. A championship that is included in the official competition calendar of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Men’s World Tennis Tour.

PP Pelti really needs a championship like this in Indonesia,” said the General Chairman of the central council of the All-Indonesian. Tennis Association (PP Pelti), Rildo Ananda Anwar in Jakarta, Saturday (6/8/2022).


“I hope our players who appear later can enjoy this event well and for their experience. In this event, their mentality is tested, because the opponents they face are foreign players.”


The AMMAN International Tennis Championships offers a total prize pool of US$15,000, or about Rs.225 million per set. This event is an entry level professional tournament which will be very useful for the host players to earn points in the international leaderboards.
