Sniffing case mentioned in Indian press

The scandal is getting out of hand! Here’s how The Print described Sniffing’s alleged affair in an article published this week. For writers, “The spy scandal affecting Mauritius since June has gotten out of hand”.

According to him, India has been pulled into this spiral which is currently leading to “multiplication calls for Pravind Jugnauth’s resignation”who is accused “high treason”. Keep in mind that the articles in The Print also focus on the famous “Mustache Man”, India’s technical team leader. An article from The Wire also discusses “Mustache Man”. Siddharth Varadarajan, the author of the article, is surprised that cases of alleged sniffing are not getting the attention it deserves in India. He said that from India’s point of view, this scandal was “public relations disaster” with some “bad consequences for national security”. What is interesting, however, is that Siddharth Varadarajan underlined that India’s National Security Advisor, Kumaresan Ilango, could be an additional victim of the affair. Because the practice of appointing former RAW to this position is now a big concern in the DPR.
