Badminton World Championship 2022: Indonesia only passed 16 reps, lost to India and Japan

KBB NEWS – Indonesia only passed 16 representatives at the 2022 Badminton World Championships in Japan, August 22-28, 2022.

With 16 representatives at the 2022 Badminton World Championships, Indonesia ranks third after India with 17 representatives and Japan with 19 representatives.

At the 2022 Badminton World Championships, Indonesia is included in the Asian zone.

Meanwhile, 47 participants from the National Olympic Committee (NOC) came from five zones, namely Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and Pan Am.

The tournament which is part of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Grade 1 will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan, from August 22-28, 2022.

At the 2022 Badminton World Championships, Indonesian men’s singles representatives Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonatan Christie, Shesar Hiren Rhustavito and Tommy Sugiarto. Meanwhile, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo has Reserve 17 status.

From the women’s singles sector, there are Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani.

From the men’s doubles sector, four representatives have passed. They are Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

In the women’s doubles sector, Indonesia passed three representatives, namely Ribka Sugiarto/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Nita Violina Marwah/Putri Syaikah and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi.
