An Indian jewelry company has broken the Guinness World Record for the most diamonds in a single ring launched. This mushroom-inspired ring by SWA Diamonds features 24,679 white diamonds lining the surface.

The diamond-processing company’s ring is about the same width as an average person’s hand and is priced at 95,243 US dollars (1.4 billion rupees). The weight of the ring, which took three months to make, is almost a quarter of a kilogram, 340 grams to be exact.

Then a team of independent diamond experts verified the ring and a world record was set on May 5.

The design resembles a blooming flower with a total of 41 petals. Apparently the main inspiration comes from the type of mushroom pink oyster (Pink oyster mushroom). Apparently the mushroom is a symbol of immortality, “Amy” in sanskrit, indian culture.

Launching the Guinness World Record page, the ring is made with 3D computerized technology with gold base material. In addition, the diamond layers are installed one by one by hand and using “natural diamonds” that have been certified by the Kimberley Process.

According to CNN, general director SWA Diamonds Abdul Gafur Anadiyan revealed that the ring is a symbol of the success of the diamond entrepreneur in India. “It is a blessing and a pride that this ring is made in India,” said Abdul Gafur.

Previously, the same record was achieved by Indian jewelry designer Harshit Bansal of Renani Jewels in 2020, with a ring in the shape of a marigold flower. Dubbed the “Ring of Prosperity”, the ring contains 12,638 diamonds. Thus, the SWA Diamonds mushroom ring managed to break the record by making a ring with double the number of diamonds from the previous record.
