The Danish player previously coached Varun Kapur at Gentofte, Denmark. Former U-19 world number 2 Varun Kapur spent ten days with Gade at the state-of-the-art Peter Gade Academy in Denmark.
Varun, the men’s singles champion from Maharashtra, is striving to establish himself in the tough world of the senior category, sparing no effort to fulfill his dream.
In his quest to become a better player, Varun decides to bring in Peter Gade and opts for a brief one-on-one session with one of the best players of the previous generation.
Varun, who has been training at the Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA) in Pune for six years, is enjoying his time with the legend in Denmark.
Peter Gade is one of the best players in badminton history thanks to the Men’s All England Prestige Championship title in 1999 and five European Championship titles.
The six-foot-tall player topped the world rankings from 1998 to 2001. Several players around the world have relied on Gade’s assistance to raise the bar on their game.
Varun won the Uganda International Badminton Tournament in 2021 to win his first title in the senior category. World No. 242 Varun, who is backed by the Virat Kohli Foundation and Britannia Industries, impressed Gade with his skill and blistering speed on the pitch.
