Noida International Airport: Tata Projects to build Noida Airport proposes L&T & Shapoorji Pallonji | Business news from India

NEW DELHI: Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) has selected Tata Projects for the construction of Noida International Airport (NIA) over two other bidders – L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji. The first phase of Noida Airport is expected to be completed in about two years and this will be the second airport project to be carried out by Tata Projects which has built the Prayagraj Airport Terminal (Allahabad).
Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of YIAPL said: “We are delighted to partner with Tata Projects for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work at Noida International Airport. With the award of this EPC contract, our project is entering the next phase, during which construction activities on site will accelerate rapidly. Together with Tata Projects, we are working to provide a passenger terminal, runway and other airport infrastructure with a capacity of 1.2 million passengers per year by 2024.”
Vinayak Pai, CEO and designated Managing Director of Tata Projects said: “We are proud to have been awarded the EPC work for the Greenfield Noida International Airport at Jewar. Tata Projects will work closely with YIAPL to deliver India’s most modern and greenest airport on time. We will use the latest technologies in its construction while meeting the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability.”
Tata Projects will construct the terminal, runway, airside infrastructure, roads, utilities, landside facilities and other ancillary structures at Noida Airport. Other key Tata Projects projects include the new Parliament House, the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link, several sections of dedicated freight corridors and metro lines in cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Chennai. It also built the terminal of Prayagraj Airport in a record 11 months.
