Opening ceremony Paris 2024 Olympic Games took place magnificently and lively on the Seine, Saturday (27/7).

The opening of the 2024 Olympics began at 19:30 local time or 00:30 WIB with Zinedine Zidane taking over the torch from an actor who accidentally entered the Olympic stadium.

Zidane then handed the Olympic flame to three children. There is a scene where the three children carrying the Olympic flame are attacked by a crocodile, then emerge in a boat on the Seine.

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games continued with the presentation of French President Emmanuel Macron and the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach.

The Greek team was the first participant in the walk to arrive by boat. This is a tradition at every Olympic Games where Greece has been the honorary team since the birth of the Olympic Games in ancient Greece 3,000 years ago, including hosting the modern Olympics in 1896.

The refugee contingent became the second participant to join the parade. The refugee contingent included 37 athletes. The weather around the Seine is expected to be cloudy and rainy.

The implementation of the Paris Olympics march is different from previous Olympics. Not only in the location of the opening and the march that took place on the river, but also the order of the march.

If previously the parade was based on alphabetical order, this time it is adjusted according to the number of contingents. National contingents with less than 200 members will be grouped in a single boat.

Afghanistan, South Africa, Albania, Algeria, Germany are contingents gathered in the same boat. In total, 100 boats would have been used during this march.

Andorra and Angola are also in the same boat. Likewise with Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Aruba in the same boat.

However, there was also a contingent of participants who paraded in their own boats. One of them is Bangladesh, with a smaller boat.

Appearances by global celebrities such as Lady Gaga who performed a song also brightened up the opening of the 2024 Olympics.

There is also a show about the making of an Olympic medal, considered the highest achievement of an athlete in the world.

The Indonesian contingent appeared at the parade with India and Iran in the same boat. The Red and White team consists of 14 members, including four athletes: Maryam March Maharani (judo) as flag bearer, Bernard Bernjamin van Aert (cycling) and Azzahra Permatahani and Joe Aditya for swimming.
