The Japan External Trade Organization has organised ‘University Connect’ here, an interactive event to connect Japanese companies looking to hire Indian talent with the best universities of Karnataka.
University Connect is a global campaign to connect with universities outside Japan to encourage students to pursue employment opportunities in Japanese companies.
“This was the first event in Bengaluru. Ten Japanese companies and seven Indian institutions participated. The exchange of views and excitement exceeded all expectations. The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) is committed to actively developing its university network in Karnataka and will do everything in its power to support Japanese companies in recruiting skilled Indians,” said Toshihiro Mizutani, Director General of JETRO Bengaluru.
During the event on August 26, seven of Karnataka's top universities presented an overview of their facilities, programs, recruitment processes and statistics to ten Japanese companies interested in hiring Indian students for internships and full-time positions.
The participating Japanese companies included a mix of large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups.
