Indian legend Saina Nehwal receives Suryadatta National Award

Badminton News: The Suryadatta Global Business Forum (SGBF) has conferred the Suryadatta National Award for Sporting Excellence on Olympic badminton medallist Saina Nehwal, a statement issued by the foundation said.

The ceremony was held in New Delhi and the awards were presented by Sanjay Chordiya, President, SGBF, along with Vice President Sushama Chordiya and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Akshit Kushal of Suryadatta Education Foundation, Pune.

Saina Nehwal admitted that she was honoured to receive the award which recognises the efforts of national athletes.

“I am deeply honoured to receive this award. Suryadatta's initiative to recognise and celebrate exceptional individuals and role models for students is truly commendable. Through such initiatives, we inspire and motivate future generations to strive for excellence.”

He impressed upon the students that they should not underestimate the power of determination and hard work. Success is not just a destination, but a journey full of challenges and opportunities.

“Accept every challenge as a stepping stone towards your goals. Remember that every obstacle you face is an opportunity to learn, grow and become stronger. Believe in yourself and your dreams,” he added.

Chordiya said in a statement, “Let us take a moment to reflect on the values ​​of hard work, determination and resilience. These are the principles that propel us forward and help us achieve our dreams. May we all take inspiration from the story of Saina Nehwal and continue to strive for excellence in our endeavours.”

Saina Nehwal is one of the Indian badminton icons who was the first Indian badminton player to successfully win a medal at the Olympics and the first Indian singles player to achieve the highest ranking of World No. 1.
