Shooting World Cup final to be held in Delhi in October
All Olympic shooters at the Paris Games are expected to qualify for the World Cup final to be held from October 13-18 at the Dr. Karni Singh Stadium in Delhi.
International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) President Luciano Rossi awarded the prestigious event to India at the world body's meeting in Chateauroux during the Paris Olympics.
Winners of the last World Cup in Doha, Qatar have also automatically qualified for the tournament. Moreover, the top six shooters from each of the 12 individual events will also qualify for the World Cup final. Each of the 12 events in each country will feature two penalty shootouts. India is also likely to welcome new entrants in addition to those who have qualified.
In this event, the gold, silver and bronze medalists of each event will receive prizes of €5,000, €4,000 and €3,000 respectively.
It is to be noted that this will be the tenth international event to be held in India in the last ten years. The Bhopal World Cup last year was the last international shooting event to be held in the country.

They perform at a high level, which attracts the younger generation to the sport. This enhances the reputation of the sport in the country.
NRAI General Secretary Sultan Singh said, “We hope our shooting stars take full advantage of the home event to win more international awards. It is an opportunity for fans to see their favourites alongside the best in the world.”
This will be the second World Cup final to be played in India after 2017.

Senior Kuist Satte defeated, West Indies Mushtaq progress in pool and snooker
Har Gymkhana student SL Satte fought valiantly but lost to Anil Kumar of Kolhapur while West Bengal's Saqlain Mushtaq qualified for the main draw of the West Indies Billiards and Snooker Championship on Thursday.
Satte showed fighting spirit despite losing the first frame by winning three colours in the final frame. But he could not match 55-year-old Anil of Kolhapur as Anil of Kolhapur won 4-1 (21-50, 56-42, 17-73, 27-66 and 50-77).
The West Bengal batsman beat Madhya Pradesh's Abhijit Airen 4-0, winning 71-26, 60-40, 51-28 and 56-7 to enter the main draw.
In the second round, Brijesh Nanavati of Mumbai beat his compatriot Om Sawant with a score of 4:3 (13-53, 27-65, 73-65, 1-78, 54-41, 68-43 and 49-33).

Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Protshthan played to a goalless draw against Sikkim Government High School to advance to the quarter-finals of Group B of the 63rd U-17 Women's Football Cup on Thursday.

Defending champion Velavan reached the semi-finals of the national championship
Defending champion and top seed Velavan Senthilkumar lost to Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu 11-8, 11-8, 11-8 in the quarterfinals of the 80th HCL National Squash Championship at Bombay Gymkhana on Thursday.
Velawan will face Veer Chothrani in the semi-final, Mahesh Mangaonkar against Abhay Singh in the semi-final.
In the women's event, defending champions Anahat Singh, Nirupama Dubey, Urvashi Joshi and Akanksha Salunkhe reached the semi-finals.
