Every section of society is suffering, says Rahul Gandhi | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said all sections of society were suffering from problems like inflation, unemployment or government indifference and he would fight on the streets and in Parliament to bring justice to them – a remark ahead of the budget session that raised fears of an aggressive attitude from the opposition in Parliament.

In social media posts accompanied by videos of his recent conversations with daily wage workers and train drivers, Rahul said: “Today in India, everyone, from daily wage workers to government employees, is suffering badly, some because of inflation and unemployment, others because of government indifference. I will raise my voice for all and get justice for them – from the streets to Parliament.”

Since becoming the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul has posted videos outlining his responsibilities and promising that he will use the Parliament speech to address the concerns of common people.

With the brief inaugural session witnessing an aggressive standoff between the opposition and the government, the upcoming budget session is crucial for the BJP and its rivals alike. Sources said the budget discussion will be a priority. Sources also said the party is likely to plan outdoor protest rallies alongside the budget discussion.

The opposition INDIA bloc will coordinate on issues to make the budget debate look like a targeted attack on the government, with jobs, prices, security, railways, NEET and exam paper leaks being at the forefront. Some of these issues led to disruptions in the last session. A coordination meeting of the allies is likely to be held before the session or discussion.

However, if there are a few working days left after the passage of the Budget and Finance Bill, the opposition will demand separate discussions on the issues that are of priority to them. A similar demand for a discussion on NEET in the first session, during which Rahul Gandhi wrote to PM Narendra Modi requesting him to chair the debate, led to the Lok Sabha being adjourned a day earlier.
