In a social media post, the business class passenger complained about delayed departures, unclean and non-functional seats and, to make the experience even worse, he was served uncooked food on board the flight.

Imagine paying extra for a business class seat on a nonstop flight to the US, only to find that the seats are dirty and you are served uncooked food. This was the experience of Vineeth K, a business class passenger on an Air India flight from New Delhi to Newark.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Vineeth K wrote, “After flying with Emirates for a few years, I recently switched to Air India as they have direct flights to New York, Chicago and London which are my frequent destinations. Yesterday's flight was nothing less than a nightmare… Booked business class (business trip). Seats were not clean, worn out and out of the 35 seats, at least five were non-functional.”

The passenger said he chose Air India despite the cheaper fares because of the non-stop connection to the USA.
He further claimed that the takeoff was delayed by 25 minutes. “After calming down 30 minutes after takeoff, I wanted to go to sleep (3:30 am) and realized that my seat does not convert into a flat bed because it does not work.”
The passenger further said that he asked the cabin crew to assign him another seat and after ten minutes of attempts, he was assigned a new seat.
Vineeth K said he was served “uncooked” food and the fruits were stale. “Woke up after a few hours. Food was served and it was uncooked (I have never experienced this on Air India), fruits were stale (everyone on board was changing),” he said in his X-post.
He further claimed that the airline had damaged his luggage. “After all this, the final nail in my coffin is that they damaged my luggage,” he said.
In his post on X, Vineeth K also said, “Bad food, worn out seat, dirty seat cover, non-working TV (all) for Rs 500,000 (round trip), my luggage was damaged.”
