HMD Teases Return of Iconic Feature Phone, Nokia 3210 Could Get a Remake

HMD is preparing to launch a new handset soon. The Finnish mobile manufacturer shared a teaser to give clues about the arrival of a new phone in May, without confirming the name. HMD Global is expected to unveil a refreshed model of the Nokia 3210. The brand best known for its Nokia-branded phones announced late last year that it would launch its own branded phones in 2024 after exclusively offering Nokia phones. HMD Global has only been selling phones under the Nokia brand for the past seven years.

On Monday March 18, HMD on announcement that a new iconic phone will be revealed in May. The brand also shared a pixelated image of a Nokia feature phone in a yellow hue with the tagline “An Icon Returns in May.” The message redirects to a landing page on the company's website with the same announcement. Interested customers can enter their email address on the website to get the latest updates on the launch.

Since the publication of the X post on March 18, the 25th anniversary of the Nokia 3210, this model is supposed to make a comeback. HMD global also mentioned the phone's anniversary.

Meanwhile, HMD plans to launch its own-branded smartphones later this year, in July. The company launched new handsets in February last week, shortly after confirming its rebranding efforts at MWC 2024. It is confirmed that it will follow a multi-brand strategy by manufacturing original HMD devices and continuing to sell Nokia phones.

It is also preparing to introduce a Barbie-branded flip phone this summer in partnership with toymaker Mattel.
