Badminton News: Indian national team coach Mohammed Siyadatullah Siddiqui has left the Gopi Chand Academy to join the Oregon Badminton Academy in the United States.
For a long time, Siyadutt, 40, was one of the few people that Indian national team head coach Pullela Gopi Chand always looked for to take on the role of sector coach.
The Gopi Chand Academy support staff may never be the same again with one of its most trusted and respected coaches, Mohammed Siyadatullah Siddiqui, joining the Oregon Badminton Academy in the United States.
“It has been a great journey for me so far, having started my playing career at Mahabubnagar in 2000. Due to injury, I stopped playing and started coaching at Gopi Academy ( Gachibowli) from 2004″, Siyadutt, as he is better known. in badminton circles, says Sportstar.
The fact that Siyadutt was able to guide players like Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth as they won the prestigious China Open title is a tribute to his efficiency and the trust that players, including majors, have in him .
“Yes, I owe a lot to Gopi Anna (brother). He is the reason why I am today. And I enjoyed every minute, learning a lot about the art of coaching from him. “I am delighted to have played a role in the success of some of the most renowned names in Indian badminton over the last two decades,” said Siyadutt, who joined the national team as sole coach in 2004 .
Since then, he has been an integral part of many memorable moments in Indian badminton, including the team gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Thomas Cup gold medal, besides helping players record winning moments in many Super Series.
Reflecting on the Oregon Badminton Academy, a fully equipped USA Badminton (USAB) certified badminton facility located in the city of Beaverton in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area, Siyadutt said its mission is to provide the best badminton facilities and infrastructure. through a comprehensive list of high quality badminton services, including coaching/training programs for all levels and age groups, in addition to fitness programs.
“I hope to help the Oregon Academy produce badminton champions in the near future,” he said.
