Treesa Jolly, promising young talent from Asia and India

Badminton News: Treesa Jolly is a 17-year-old Indian player, born on May 27, 2003. She is currently ranked 8th in the BWF junior rankings in women's singles. With 43 career victories in the women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles categories, Jolly is on her way to becoming one of the best players in Asia!

Treesa Jolly grew up in an area that had no roots for badminton: “when I started, almost no one played the sport in my village. When my father started encouraging me and my sister to play badminton, a lot of people questioned it,” he said in an interview with the New Indian Express.

One of the first tournaments she participated in was the 2017 Yonex Sunrise International Junior Grand Prix. A year later, in 2018, she won a gold medal in the women's singles category at the Yonex Sunrise Bangladesh International Junior. She beat American Ruhi Raju 21-15, 21-11.

2019 was a breakthrough year for him as he won numerous titles. Notably, she won bronze in the women's doubles category at the U-19 International Grand Prix 2019 held in Pune and also finished third in the U-19 women's doubles category at the Yonex German Junior Cup 2019. She also won a series of national championships. the titles of which the majority came from the women's doubles.

In 2020, the Indian junior participated in the Dutch Junior International 2020 in the women's singles category and also in the mixed doubles category with her partner Sankar Prasad Uday Kumar. She also competed again at the 2020 German Junior in the women's singles and mixed doubles categories.
