MotoGP News: Fabio Quartararo admits he is still blind to the Indian MotoGP track. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider also doubts his ability to perform optimally this week.
Assuming the security concerns have been resolved and the last-minute visa confusion has been resolved, the riders will face a new challenge when they take to the Buddh International Circuit on Friday morning.
The riders haven't had the opportunity to test MotoGP before the event, meaning it's just a blank slate. Drivers used video games to try to learn the 14 corners of the old F1 circuit, but it was the long straights (including the 1km back section) that immediately caught Quartararo's attention.
“Seeing the video of the straight, I don't think it's a chance [bagi kami]! said the Frenchman, whose COTA podium was his only top six finish on a Sunday this season so far.
“I think the straight is quite long and it won't be easy. But I give 100% all the time. Whatever the position. This is what I learned during this season, whatever the position, I have to surpass myself.
Quartararo is currently eleventh in the world championship, after 12 of 20 rounds, with teammate Franco Morbidelli twelfth.
Previously, Alex Marquez also admitted that he does not know the Indian MotoGP track. In fact, the Gresini Racing driver even watched F1 races and played video games to learn more about the track.
