Ola Group's AI company Krutrim has become the first artificial intelligence unicorn from India after raising $50 million in a funding round led by Matrix Partners. What is a unicorn? Well, it's a private startup valued at over $1 billion.

“Krutrim, India's homegrown AI company focused on building the complete AI computing stack, announced the successful completion of its first round of funding. The funding round led by prominent investors such as Matrix Partners India and others raised an equity investment of $50 million at a valuation of $1 billion,” the company said.

Krutrim, an AI company focused on building the complete AI computing stack, is committed to revolutionizing the AI ​​landscape and driving innovation worldwide. The funds raised will be crucial in accelerating their mission, a report by news agency PTI said.

What the Ola founder has to say: Krutrim founder Bhavish Aggarwal said the company has the ability to drive meaningful change for the world from India.

Krutrim introduced its Large Language Base Model (LLM) last month. With the largest representation of Indian data used for its training, Krutrim claims to advance generative AI applications across all Indian languages.

The Krutrim LLM family includes Krutrim Base and Krutrim Pro and provides advanced features and technical advancements for inference. Krutrim announced last month that it would run an early access program through January 2024 with a simple login page on the website.
