The Indian Prime Minister promotes holidays on local islands. This was followed by a serious diplomatic crisis with the Maldives. Some Indians are now calling for a boycott of the islands.
Wicy sands, gentle waves and turquoise waters: Maldives is known as a holiday paradise. It is also said there are fantastic beaches in neighboring India. At least that's the impression Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought to create last week with his visit to a hitherto little-known Indian holiday destination.
On Platform “Recently I had the opportunity to visit the people of Lakshadweep. “I continue to admire the beauty of its islands and the extraordinary warmth of its people,” Modi wrote.
