Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has responded to Michael Vaughan's statement that India is an underperforming team. Vaughan's statement came after India lost the first IND vs SA Test. After the second IND vs SA Test in which India won the match in a day and a half, Ashwin said that although India had not won the ICC Trophy for a long time, they were one of the teams dominant tests abroad.

However, the Indian Test team is one of the best traveling teams of all time. We have seen many amazing results. After he (Vaughan) said that, many pundits in our country started doubting whether India was an underperforming team. Honestly, it made me laugh,” Ashwin said.
